Halal restaurants in Hangzhou / Shanghai / Suzhou / Nanjing

An ex-colleague of mine planned to visit all of China, so far I think he has covered quite a few cities already. For me, I planned to do the same but I guess I have to cover few cities each trip if I were to cover all of China..(I’m an employee n my annual leave? Quite pathetic) but then again I’m not that passionate about China, I’ll only go to tourist cities – why? Better facilities for tourists of course.

Not that young n reckless anymore…ha ha used to backpack around Europe n the states during my student days…Now I’m pampered – need nice clean bed and proper food n need my shower! (when I was backpacking – ate bread, sardine, instant noodles n slept at train station, on ferries, on trains, parking areas n wherever safe enough to spend a night; ha ha n shower? when we could find public shower - not many public toilets offer shower facilities).

And I heard stories that toilet facilities (in China) in less touristy areas are gross….so, better not ‘cari pasal’ ha ha. So, don’t think I’ll go back to backpacking ways..

Hangzhou – Shanghai – Suzhou can be covered in one trip as they are situated quite near to each other. So basically take a flight to Hangzhou (5 hours flight from KL), after exploring Hangzhou take a train to Shanghai (1.5-2hrs journey about USD7), explore Shanghai n later take a train to Suzhou (45min train ride). I guess if you have more time to spend you could cover Nanjing too (4hrs train ride).

SHANGHAI

When you are in Shanghai better stick to muslim restaurants but if you insist on visiting vegetarian restaurants, be careful with your food selection because shanghai dishes use alcohol - A LOT!

Actually not really a tall order to find muslim restaurants in Shanghai...well.. they have like over 100,000 muslims in Shanghai!
