Halal restaurants in Hong Kong

Surprisingly it is not difficult to find halal food in Hong Kong however halal food is pricey, 3 meals of halal food can cost you RM125 (breakfast, lunch, dinner)!

Anyway, I’m sure amongst the many halal / vegetarian eateries in town you’ll find something to suit your budget.

I remember looong time ago when I was young, my cousin told my mom that it was extremely difficult to find halal food in Hong Kong; he was hungry (or probably bored with salad, eggs n bread diet – wonder why didn’t he try seafood or vegetarian food? Now I know probably because of limited budget factor); so he ordered a plate of fried rice at a local restaurant.

According to him everything in Hong Kong (food) will be served with some sort of pork products – lard, bacon, ham etc. Anyway, they served his fried rice with meat (I don’t remember chicken or pork), so, he just pushed aside the meat n ate the rest of the fried rice…:-) I guess for him ‘darurat’ rule can be used at that time……:-) (For muslim darurat or emergency rules applies when one is in a situation between life n death or to prevent harm to health – in this situation one can eat non-halal food).
